Fireworks!

Yesterday I asked my facebook friends for help taking pictures of fireworks and Jennifer came through with this link! So - our first night of celebrating the Fourth of July (also known as Mike's birthday weekend)! Of course, there are pictures...

The only down side to taking photos of fireworks - is that it takes some set up and then you sort of need to leave your camera there and ready - so I wasn't able to capture pictures of the pre-fireworks activity (mostly the kids playing around). Luckily, my friend takes just as many pictures as I do - so she took care of that part of the night for us! (Also - I have to give credit - Mike took all of the fireworks pictures. I just did the research.)

Spring Break 2010 - AKA - Toddler's Gone Wild

So, the plans I had for our spring break didn't really work out. Sure, the weather was fabulous. The best spring break weather I remember in a long time. But with a sinus infection, ear infection, some bronchitis, and allergies coming to visit - we didn't have the energy to go anywhere or do anything. (Those illnesses were shared between three of us.)

Instead, we layed around the house - watching movies... not really doing much of anything. Sure, I'll get an urge to clean up a little - and I focus on one room and then I'm exhausted. Out of the three of us, Liam's been the luckiest. Just an ear infection that we caught early. So, as I've been laying around, almost asleep, he's been, um, having a run of the house, I suppose. Locked doors, lost membership cards that I vaguely remember watching him pretend with, dumped puzzle pieces, kitchen spices taken out of the cabinets, pots, pans, spoons, etc... Oh... and this...


I also vaguely remember the boys thinking it was the funniest thing to run around the house in nothing but their undies. Maybe it was funny...

So remember last week I said I was going to Wow you with some amazing firework pictures? They turned out okay, but I gave up before the grand finale, because I didn't think that we were getting any good ones. (my husband, who may or may not have had a few drinks, was in charge of the camera since I was in charge of Liam). I did set up the settings and the tripod - but couldn't situate myself to actually take the pictures. Maybe next year.

Our plans to see fireworks got rained out yesterday... so no fireworks or bright and sunny fourth of July pictures from me. Hopefully next week you'll see some from the Fifth of July - we've got plans to go and see some fireworks tonight and the weather is supposed to be great. I even looked up how to photograph fireworks, so hold your breath, people, you might see some amazing things here next week. Then again, maybe not.

I was very excited about this weeks theme. I have a TON of great pictures of boys - from my own sons to grandpas, dads, and uncles. I choose these two pictures, both taken about a year ago, because of the expressions on the faces. Sure, I have other photos that were more balanced or just "better" shots - but in my opinion - nothing beats the looks on the faces of these two photos. Hope you enjoy! =)

Quinn went to a wedding and was so excited to wear his fancy shoes, fancy shirt, fancy pants, and a tie! Quinn asked his mom to take his picture as soon as he got to the church. Quinn said, "I'm more fancy than you are, mommy."

Quinn went to a wedding and sat right next to his mommy, who wasn't as fancy as he was.

Quinn went to a wedding and jumped around.

Quinn went to a wedding and didn't really want to pose for a picture. That's okay, since Quinn's mom forgot to change the setting from P to auto and this picture is way too bright.
