Yum. Thanksgiving is absolutely my favorite holiday. No gifts to contend with, no chaos of kids wanting to open gifts, just family, food, and fun. Even as a little girl I'd look forward to the long car ride to Kentucky to see my aunt and uncle and Gina, my cousin who's more like a sister to us all. Not only did we visit with family, but the weather always seemed a bit warmer down there in Kentucky. As I've grown the tradition of driving down to KY has changed a bit, first it was every-other-year, with them driving up here on the off years. Now that all my brothers and sisters have kids, it's been awhile since we've driven down, but they've been coming up here more often.
Anyway, we're off to Mike's mom's house for this years Thanksgiving. I'll be seeing my aunt and uncle tomorrow for a late lunch/dinner after the hit Oakbrook. (I'd go with them, but I'm such an early bird...and they usually don't leave the house until 10...)
