Finally

Today was my first day back at work and I can honestly say I'm excited about this new school year. I had the pleasure of meeting our new Early Childhood teacher. This classroom is right across the hall from me and I'm required to work with the teacher on things like integration, music shows, etc... Well, the previous teacher and I would butt heads on a lot of issues. Her and I just had very different philosphies in regards to early childhood and what's appropriate for young children. So this new teacher is younger (about my age), has some great experience behind her, and after just a few short meetings talking about times to integrate and other things I can tell we're pretty much on the same page. She's had experience using the Early Learning Standards, which I've been trying to work into my classroom. PLUS...she plays the guitar! I'm very excited and I feel like I'll have a much better year being able to work with someone who values developmentally appropriate activities and seems to truly enjoy her job.
