You know what happens, don't you? We keep adding stuff to do to our endless list of things we are "responsible" for. If you think about this logically, then really, we should be also taking things off of our lists of things we do. When we don't, bad things happen. Like, for example, your pictures that you've been taking with your fancy new camera get looked at all the time, but you find you don't have time to actually sort them, rate them, print them, and scrap them. And being behind on this makes me feel overwhelmed. Or you might forget to switch the laundry and then the next day we've got some stinky stuff in the wash. This makes me feel overwhelmed. Or you might look around your house and see that you still need to finish putting the winter clothes away (not too bad, since it did just snow a month ago) and you need to bring out the spring/summer clothes and you need to get your toenails painted. This makes me feel overwhelmed. And when I started thinking about all the things I'm responsible for, or all the things I feel like I need to do, I really started feeling overwhelmed. So... I quit.
After 4, 386 updates, I posted my "last" update. (Last is in quotes, because I updated two more times - in response to others.)

I almost posted a quick question on how to take a picture of your computer screen, but then I just grabbed my camera and took a picture the old fashioned way. You know, the old fashioned way, with a digital camera.
Do I miss it? Sometimes? I find myself reaching for my blackberry at stoplights to catch up on everyone, then putting it down again. I need to figure out how to get that application off of my blackberry. I'd miss it a lot more if I didn't still have facebook.
And I realize that tweeting on twitter is not really a responsibilty, but it was always on my mental list of things to do - check out the latest tweets. So, I'd end up on twitter for quite awhile instead of sorting through my pictures, playing with my kids, finishing up the laundry, paying attention to stop lights. etc. etc.
I don't blame twitter entirely for my ADHD when it comes to getting stuff done, but it definitely wasn't helping.

good for you!
I totally hear where you're coming from, ad I often go for stretches where I 'unplug' from the computer.
clearly THIS is not one of those times.. but I get it. focus on what you really need to, and know that if something is really important for you to know.. you'll end up finding out about it.
"Paying attention to stop lights" - HEE HEE! Read that and for the first time I was glad we don't live near each other. ;)
I sort of feel like my laptop is my connection with the outside world. Everywhere else is Henryland. And your full attention is needed when visiting Henryland or the evil monster comes out.
Also, I totally know what you mean about the pictures. Crikey! I'm sitting on literally thousands of pictures, most of which need to be backed up and archived. The hundreds I have managed to turn into prints are patiently waiting to be scrapbooked. My guess is it'll be awhile.
