So a few weeks ago I filled out an application here. Although we loved Maggie and love labs and KNOW that they are one of the "best pets to have with children" we wanted to try something new. I remember meeting some pointers a few years ago and feel in love with the look and the temperament.
And now Mike and I have a very important decision to make.
The good news is both dogs already have a blog! ha!
No. Seriously.
There's Tucker. Tucker who's 2 years old. Was put into foster care after his family divorced. Grew up with children. Tucker who is a "big dog with a big bark". He weighs close to 70 pounds, which is okay - we're used to big dogs.
And then there's Izzy (sometimes call Violet). Izzy who is so stinkin' cute. She'll weighs right around 35 pounds. BUT - she's just 11 months old and has all that puppy energy. I'm not sure why she ended up in foster care.
When I truly think about it I think TUCKER! But when I look at the picture at Izzy's blog, I think IZZY! And then I go look at Tucker and I think TUCKER!
What am I supposed to do? Go check them out!

I vote Tucker. There. That should settle everything for you.
I would say Tucker, but only because I have a GSP (slightly different that what you're looking at, but not really that different) and I know how incredibly high energy they are. I've only been around him since he was 5, but I can't imagine that energy in puppy form.
I say puppy! Izzy! More time to bond with your boys. And another female in your house ;-)
Hey Cathy, I met someone who works for that bird dog rescue, when I was doing agility class with crazy max...in Bartlett. Anyways, I would go Tucker...baby and a puppy??
I'd take either of them but I'm partial to the female gender so my vote is for Izzy. Although I do really like Tucker and he's got the age thing going for him. But Ivvy is super cute.
I see how this could be very difficult.
I'm going to vote for Izzy, too. She won't be a puppy much longer and it's good to have that earlier bonding time with the boys.
However, they're both quite dear so you can't go wrong even if you just flip a coin or consult the Magic 8 ball. :-)
I say tucker. it's the middle of the school year, and you're kind of busy... so how much puppy training can you really be doing right now? also? izzy looks like she'll be a big dog, too... so that cancels each other out.
I think a older dog who is more tolerant to a toddler's grab.. I mean HUG might be safer, too.
anyways.. both dogs are nice.. but my vote is for the easiest transition for both dog and family... which from MY spot appears to be tucker.
whichever you choose will be the right decision... but if you go with izzy... PLEASE change that blog template. the colors are a hot mess and it's hard to read. ;)
