Morning Routine

I know you're dying to know what I do in the mornings, right? Well - here it is.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays


5:45am - alarm clock goes off.


5:45:01am - I turn it off.


6:00am - alarm clock goes off.


6:00:01am - I turn it off and wake up Mike. "Go use the bathroom before I shower."


6:05 - I shower. Mike gets himself ready to go. (fixes his lunch and if Quinn has woken up by now, which usually happens, will give him some juicy water and turn on the TV for him)


6:15 - Done in the shower. Mike leaves.


6:17 - I give Quinn his clothes for the day and explain that he needs to get himself dressed now so I have time to make him oatmeal (his favorite!) instead of cereal (blah).


6:19 - I get dressed.


6:23 - Remind Quinn to get dressed.


6:25 - put my make-up on.


6:30 - If time - check my email, cuddle with Quinn (or make him get dressed), check blogs, and start packing the diaper bag.


6:45 - blow-dry hair.


7:00 - Get Liam out of bed, dressed, etc.


7:05 make Quinn's oatmeal, Liam's cereal, and myself a glass of orange juice.


7:07 feed Liam


7:25 keep giving Liam food he can feed himself as I make my lunch, unload the dishwasher, and take the bags out to the car.


7:30 clean up the kids and shuffle them out of the house


7:40 Drive to the babysitters house.


8:00 Say goodbye and head to work.


8:05 Get to work and breathe.





Tuesdays and Thursdays


6:00am - alarm clock goes off.
6:00:01am - I turn it off and wake up Mike. "It's 6:00 - get up."


6:15 - Mike leaves - if Quinn is up already he'll give him some juicy water and turn on the TV for him (usually happens).


6:35 - Roll out of bed and say good morning to Quinn on the couch.


6:40 - Hop in the shower.


6:50 - Relax on the couch, cuddle with Quinn, check email


7:15 - If Liam is still sleeping - wake him up and start the breakfast thing - then take Quinn to school at 8:40.

My favorite thing on my days off of work is being able to slow down in the morning and cuddle longer with Quinn, let Liam sleep in a bit, and when I do go in to wake him up - grab a few pictures before he stirs awake. That - and Liam loves some good tickles in the morning and on my days off Quinn and I and Liam spend about 10-15 minutes in Liam's room laughing and tickling. It's a great way to start the day.
