Maybe yesterday I was just a little jealous of those people who actually do celebrate New Year's Eve. We used to and even did when Quinn was a tiny baby. It's been 3 years since I've actually stayed up until midnight. And even then, the year before when Quinn was a tiny baby I'm pretty sure I fell asleep on the couch at our friends house. Yeah...real party animal here. My friend from college (Shellie!) is on her way to our house to watch the Rose Bowl. I'm pretty excited to see her since she lives in CA and is just out this way to visit. Woohoo! Anyway, I waited and waited to call her this morning to see if the plans were still the same, knowing she probably went out and needed a little extra time. I finally called around 11:30 and her words were, "Hey buddy. I'm healing. I'm gonna head out that way as soon as I can get my butt in gear." Ahhh...those were the days - just lounging around and
thinking
about moving.
So...some people make resolutions - I tend to make goals each year. Though, this will be the first year I write such goals down.
1. Participate in another
charity walk. Probably not the Avon Walk again, even though a friend of mine is currently fighting breast cancer. Maybe a walk for autism or alzheimer's. I think there's a walk for autism that is considered a family walk - kids/strollers are welcome. That might be a good one for this year.
2. Not gain any more than 5 pounds. This may include exercising or eating better (damn wheat).
3. Start and complete a scrapbook of my childhood. (birth through high school)
4. Get some stories from my grandma about all the old pictures I have from her house. (this has been a goal of mine for a few years...I gotta do it soon!)
