Happy Birthday To Me!

So how does one 29-year-old celebrate their birthday?
It all started Friday, when Mike gave me my gift early...in case I wanted to take it back and get a different one, there was a big sale going on, and heaven forbid I miss a sale! He gave me a big purse, which I've been wanting so we can go places with Quinn and two diapers and not bring a diaper bag. Plus, lately, now that I'm getting old, I like to have Tums with me at all times. And inside the purse was a NEW CAMERA! I always complain that I like our camera, but it's too big, so he used his airline miles (thanks Germany trips) to get me a smaller digi-cam. I love it and can't stop taking sort videos with it. I'll have to see if I can post video on here.
Then on Saturday we hired a BABYSITTER. That's right. Someone other than me, Mike, or a Grandma put Quinn to bed. He knows her and did great. Slept all the way until the morning. We went to Dave and Busters and I became addicted to that Dance Game. The one where you jump and move around like an idiot trying to keep up with the arrows. I thought it was so much fun.
On Sunday we went to my mom's house for dinner and pie! yum.
Then on Monday, my actual birthday, I went to work and had to take my 4-year olds to the book fair and try to explain to them that we're only making lists, nobody is going home with books, and maybe, if their moms send money they'll get books on Wed. I HATE the book fair. Hate it. Hate it. Hate it. And I got to go TWO times, once with the morning class and then again in the afternoon. After work we went to Mike's mom for dinner and cake! yum.
Then, this morning, at 2am Quinn woke up coughing and couldn't stop. We had to sit with him in the bathroom with hot water running to help him breathe. It was pretty scary. I took him to the doc. this morning and he has croup. He got TWO shots. Two injections of steroids, because they needed to give him 2 ml, which is too much for one leg. He did great though...just cried for a little bit. The doc. says the steroids will kick in quickly and we should notice a rapid decrease in his wheezing and coughing. I sure hope so.
And soon I'll be off for a hair cut and my first night of my film class. I haven't heard from my superintendent so I'm assuming he didn't change his mind.
