I'm starting to believe that how you dress affects what you're doing. Here are some examples:
When I put on a suit I'm ready to kick ass in either an interview, parent-teacher conference, or presenting to a group of parents. I do not think I would have half the confidence if I attempted any of those in a pair of khakis and a polo shirt.
When I put on a sports bra, tank top, shorts, and gym shoes I am ready to sweat. I will not do that in any other attire (at least not on purpose). I was thinking about this at the gym today when I saw someone there wearing pajama like attire.
When I put on my pajamas I am ready to sleep. Or lounge on the couch. I am not one to be able to wear pajama pants during the day - not if I want to get anything done.
And I don't think this is because I'm vain or worried about my apparence. I just truly think that when you put on a suit your confidence raises. And when I get dressed to work out that's like part of my warm up. Yesterday I went bike riding with the family and needed to change first, because I knew if I went in my every-day clothes I would want to turn around the second I felt a little bit of sweat. When I'm still in work-out clothes and take Maggie for a walk we go much farther then we do when I'm in my every day clothes.
