Quinn has learned the power of speech. He can clearly and accurately use the words "yes" and "no" when asked questions. For example, "Do you want to put your shoes on and go outside?" Is answered with an enthusastic "Yes!" "Are you all done with your milk?" Is usually answered with a "No."
This morning Quinn woke up with a 103 temp. After changing his diaper, giving him tylenol, and encouraging him to eat some breakfast he needed another diaper change. During that time we had the following conversation:
Q - rubs eyes
C - Do you want to go back to sleep?
Q - "Yes!"
C - Okay. After we change your diaper I'll rock you a little and you can take a nap.
Q - Yes. Rock.
And so that's what we did. And he slept for almost two hours when I woke him up to go to the doctor. He's asleep again...it's been about 2 hours. I miss the days when he used to take two naps.
The doctor didn't see any infection in his ears, which is actually bad news because we don't know what's causing the fever. If he still has it by Saturday I'm to call the office and demand to be seen and Quinn will need some blood work. I'm hoping we won't get to that and this fever is just due to teething and all those other wive's tales I've heard from various people the last few days.
