"I'm Done With That"

So a few days ago Quinn decided on his own that he's done nursing. We had worked it down to just morning and night and I felt things were going well. Apparently, he now prefers the bottle. He used his ear-piercing scream to let me know he was quite finished with me. My emotions are still a little mixed seeing that Mike and I have been talking about when to end breastfeeding and thinking we'll just let Quinn decide unless he makes it to 15 months or so. Well, he decided so I should be happy, but really that was always such a special time for us and I'm not sure I was ready. But, ready or not. I suppose I would much rather have it this way then the other (where we force him to be done). Plus, now, I can drink. And stay out late without worrying about Quinn. And even ship him off to Grandma's for the night. Hmmm...this will have some good things come out of it. And really, if you would have asked me when Quinn was 2 weeks old how long I'd keep that up I would have replied "6 weeks." Of course, as time went on it got easier and easier...my answers kept changing to 3 months, 6 months, and then finally a year.

The picture up at the top was taken this past Saturday and the one right here was taken last weekend. Fall is such a busy time for us! So many birthdays and things to celebrate! This one here is from a wagon ride we went on at the Apple Orchard. He LOVED it and even waved bye bye to the other horse pulling the other wagons! Oh...he's so darn smart.
