Chioces for Company Haiku Style

If you want to think
That I've got it together
Then follow these "rules"

Turn down basement tour
Don't open the bedroom door
Shower curtain? closed.

Don't look up at fans
Or out the kitchen windows
Focus on the food

If you want to feel
Better about your own house
These guidelines are yours

Open front closet
Go ahead and take a peek
At the bathtub too

Also don't forget
To use the basement bathroom
Cabinets? Look in!

But no matter what
You choose to do while you're here
Relax and have fun!

We're Back with Haiku Fun

So much to tell you
About our true vacation
We all survived it

Well, Mike got injured
Going down the kiddy slides
Not once, but two times

First, scrapped his knee up
And then, cut up his finger
He thought he would die!

Quinn went down same slides
No injuries for that guy
Wanted more! more! more!

Quinn also longed for...
Being able to go down
"The really big slides!"

Liam tried a few
Little baby water slides
Also wanted more!

But my favorite
Was watching Liam splish splash
And Quinn try to swim

Will We Survive? Haiku Style

A busy week here
Tomorrow's the last "fun" day
Of our staycation

Hoping we survive
A train ride and a long walk
High of 91

Kids will be tired
We will be hot and sweaty
All for family love

Pictures from the week
Will be posted this Sunday
As weekly winners

Come see where we went
Or what we did with our days
It's been a good one.

Haiku Fireworks

A celebration
Lighting up the sky, loudly
Watching fireworks

***
Quinn will be enjoying (hopefully) his first fireworks show tonight. I hope he loves them just as much as I do!

Watch Your Mouth Haiku

A bit of advice
Just for all you married men
Listen up real good

When your wife tries on
Swimsuits and says, "How's this one?"
Don't you ever say

"You need more support."
No, it's not a compliment
That her boobs fall down
.
There once was a time
When she didn't need "support"
At least not that much

But after having
Gone through 2 pregnancies and
Nursing two babes

She already knows
She needs to find more support
It's just not out there
.
And your suggestion?
That it can be found in a
Catalog - yeah, right.

No matter how much
Support they claim to offer
Results will not be:

***Okay, though. In all seriousness - anyone have a secret place where they buy swimsuits that offer reasonable support. I *love* my bras, but need some help in the swimsuit department. This I knew before my husband chimed in with his opinion, which he seriously thought of as a compliment!

'cuz I'm a Sheep, Haiku Style

Oprah tried it out
And now she's doing it too
Influenced by them?

Well, of course I am!
But can I really do it?
What would I miss most?

Probably the meat
oh and the sugar as well
What else can't I have?

It's crazy thinking
But I could at least stop eating
All this junky food

****
Did you know what I was talking about without clicking? Did you know who "she" was without clicking? Anyway - I thought you'd all love to know I was eating some chips while writing this haiku. So yeah, it might be awhile before I try a cleanse. Or ever. Whatever.

Daddy Longlegs

Father's Day is soon
A little lesson for you
Just what you wanted!

A Daddy Longleg
Should not be called a spider
And not an insect

It's a Harvestman
With only one body part
Spiders have two parts

It's a Harvestman
With eight very long long legs
Insects have just six

No matter what name
It's fun to play under one
And count all the legs

Mad Rush Haiku

Mad rush of cleaning
To take place today and night
Hosting a party

Mad rush of packing
Took place all this week at work
Packing the school up

Mad rush construction
Taking place all summer long
They'll finish on time?

Mad rush setting up
Put the room back together
Before the first day

******
It's been one of those weeks. One of those weeks where you don't stop doing anything because there's so much to do. Or one of those weeks you sit and read blogs because you can't decide what you should do. Wednesday was the kids last day at work - I can't believe it! And Thursday all of us teachers had to go and finish packing for the summer construction project. They'll be redoing the ceilings and the pipes. And since they're worried about asbestos - we had to pack everything and movers are moving it all into mobile homes in the parking lot. Now the kicker is - we probably won't be able to get into the school, into our rooms, and into our boxes until ONE WEEK before school starts. That's crazy. I usually start going in a few weeks before a few days a week to get all set for the kids. But one week. Oh boy. I guess I can't worry about it yet and will just be forced to enjoy almost the entire summer vacation.

A Man's Haiku

Haikus are so dumb
Way too much thinking for me.
Why the hell do this?

*************
I'm playing along in two places. First - Jennifer's weekly haiku madness. And then, she encouraged us to try like the opposite sex for Neil. So yeah. That explains my haiku. Hope you enjoyed!

Frustrated Friday

First spent an hour
uploading to my blogger
finally gave up

Next tried Vimeo
but that made my window close
now I'm frustrated

Not giving up yet
waiting right now for youtube
not sure it's worth it

I rarely do this
post videos on my blog
know you all know why

You know where to go
for more of this haiku fun
Go ahead, just go.

Boo Hoo Haiku

Hardest decision
That I've ever had to make
Putting her "to sleep"

Cancerous tumors
Took over the insides of
The best dog ever

She'd bring me my shoes
And the newspaper also
Walked right by my side

Gentle with the kids
Ignored all the tugs and pulls
Or would walk away

There's so much I miss
Each day I realize more
Just how much I loved.

Bulky Haiku

First trip to Costco
Have you been there? It's crazy.
Seriously, nuts.

Hearing aides, coffins
huge plasma tvs, laptops
That's just one corner

books, movies, vodka
treadmills, play systems, and bikes
That's in the center

1000 ounces
of V8, frappiccinos,
and energy drinks

And the carts you push?
Big enough to hold two kids
both sitting up top

How much did I spend?
One hundred and forty bucks
And what did I buy?

Animal crackers,
pasta, mac and cheese, rice crisps,
pads and body wash.

Is that all I got?
Maybe, I don't remember.
Post Costco Coma.

****Okay, seriously. How many of you shop at Costco? Do you remember your first experience? That place was crazy and I was not prepared at all. Flowers, patio sets, clothes, video games, pool toys, frozen food, cereal, and more more more. Crazy. I only wanted to get an 8x8 photo printed before Saturday. And that was not possible through the mail and every other photo developing place had no idea how to do this. OH! Batteries. I also got all sorts of batteries. Triple A, double A, C, and 9V.***

***Oh - and if you do frequent Costco often - what are your favorite party foods from there? I've been to so many parties where the answer's always, "Oh I got it at Costco." So - what do you love from there?****

A Swinging Haiku

Nothing more joyful
Then pushing a baby boy
For his first swing ride

Except for maybe
Pushing your sons and nephew
On your new swing set

Thanks Mother Nature
For providing great weather
Here's a hug for you!

Signs of Spring

Today I saw things
Through the freezing pouring rain
These things give me hope

Little tiny buds
Purple flowers springing up
Tulips starting too

Earlier this week
I listened to a cardinal
No camera with me

I looked up and saw
Red bird, blue sky, brown branches
Beautiful picture

Later that same day
A family of deer ran past
We watched them in awe

I enjoyed moments
Field trip with my preschoolers
The Nature Center

Haiku Peeps!

Yellow, pink, or blue
Marshmallowy delicious
Perfect for breakfast

How do you eat them?
Fresh and straight from the package?
Stale - crunchy and hard?

No matter your choice
Just 32 calories
Zero grams of fat

The new diet rage
Small chicks and little rabbits
A well balanced meal

(anyone checking back on Mike's blood test results - basically his white blood cell count was high and they told him to have his blood rechecked when he wasn't feeling sick. Uh, okay.)

The Results Are In

Were you here last week?
If not - you better catch up.
Hi, Ku! What Ails You?

The results are in
The nurse called me yesterday
I'm not going to die.

Everything looks good
Except my vitamin D
That's lacking big time

Could explain hair loss
Doesn't explain my weight loss
This makes me happy!

Easy solution
Huge dose of vitamin D
Take it once a week

Any side effects?
There's something with the liver.
Check blood in 3 months.

Other side effects?
I'll notice more energy.
Seriously? nice.

Is this the new me?
Eat whatever I want to?
And not get too fat?

Please, please, don't hate me.
This will not last forever.
I'm not that lucky.

Now we wait for Mike
He went and gave blood Wednesday
He's been feeling bad

Shaky, jittery
Dizziness over takes him
What's the cause of this?

Results here next week
Isn't this so exciting?
Medical drama.

Hi, Ku! What Ails You?

Do you remember?
Finally - four months later
I saw my doctor

Blood pressure was low
88 over 60
I still had a pulse!

Lots of things mentioned
Celiac disease, thyroids
Too few vitamins

Blood tests were ordered
I need to fast before hand
Saturday morning

Testing for these things
Cholesterol Ratio
Metabolic Rate

The thyroid hormone
Vitamin D and B12
Thyroxine and more!

Results by next week
Hopefully in haiku form
I will tell you then!

G-Haiku

Trying this again
G-diapers better for earth
More expensive too!

Four days in a row
With only one little leak
Just pee, not the poop

I like this new change
Now I have to convince Mike
Who doesn't like change
