So the day after Turkey Day I brought us a TiVo system. That purchase caused us to need to buy a wireless internet router thing. That purchase has caused me to SERIOUSLY consider getting a laptop, because, hey, if we already have the router and the ability to just work online upstairs without being connected to ANYTHING, then why not. Our senses have prevented us from just ordering one right away and our plan was to wait until January or February. However, Mike brought his laptop home from work today and VOILA - I'm sitting on the couch blogging and watching Mike and Quinn wrestle. And it's semi-warm up here (it's so cold outside I don't think it's warm anywhere, but it's definetly warmer up here then down there.) PLUS... I mentioned to Mike how nice it would be if I could sort my pictures on our computer upstairs and he think he set up the network so I can access our hard drive through this laptop. That would be so nice.
Oh and by the way, I'm not sure how we managed to live without TiVo. Quinn can watch Teletubbies, Seaseme Street, or Barney whenever he wants. He's quickly learned to ask, "Watch Teletubbies on TiVo?"

Why Is it That?
Why is it that anytime I go to do something it takes me twice as long as it should. For example: just now (or rather over an hour ago) I came downstairs to accomplish two tasks: 1. upload pictures from our digi-cam and 2. print labels to use at work tomorrow since my work printer never prints labels right. So, I went to upload my pictures into Memory Manager (which I LOVE) and was reminded that I had a free download to update to the newest version). So I went ahead and started that...after I tried to print the labels for work. At which point I ran out of ink. I knew I had another ink cartridge (I buy them two at a time and when I use the second one I'll go get another set of two - ever since I had a paper due and NO ink). So, I started the download, and started searching for the ink. I remembered even writing BLACK INK on the plain white box so I could find it easier. I searched and searched which led to me cleaning off our desk, some shelves, and then giving up. After I gave up, of course I found the ink. RIGHT NEXT TO THE PRINTER. Makes sense, doesn't it??? SO I just printed the labels, the download is done, but I can't upload my pictures now because Mike's clothes just buzzed in the dryer and if I don't get them hung up right away they get wrinkled. So I'll have to either come back down to work on the pictures or forget about it for tonight. I think it's time we went wireless... All that took well over the 20 minutes it should have and then I had to write about it here.... =)
Oh - and on another note (as the clothes get wrinkled) - we let Quinn play in his sprinkler today. He hated it the first time, but this time thought it was fun to run up to it, touch the water, and run away. When we were done with that we let him play with just the hose. He had so much fun and Mike and I were laughing so hard watching him. After awhile he figured out he could make Mike run and scream by pointing the water at him! I would have grabbed the camera to get some good shots, but I didn't want to miss the action. So next time...

Garage Sales
So there's two types of people who come to garage sales. The first: won't pay any more than half of what you have on the sticker. The other: will pay whatever you have on the sticker. I myself am the other. I don't like to bargain or make people come down in price. Two summers ago we had a garage sale and I priced everything very fairly. What I would want to pay for it. And I felt so ripped off at all those people who refuse to pay anything more than half of what you mark. So this year I marked everything knowing I wouldn't mind getting half of what I marked. But then I felt bad for all those people, who like me, aren't willing to drive a bargain. They were paying more than what I thought they should.
Oh well.
FYI - our internet has been down for a few weeks (thus the lack of updates). Mike swore and swore it was Comcast's fault and they were scheduled to come out this Tuesday. Then Mike looked at our splitter cable and found that was the problem. Three weeks later. =)
