Words Liam Knows That Quinn Never Would Have Used Before He Was Two Years Old.

So, Liam will be two in less than a month. TWO. As in 2 years old. As in, "hello? What happened to my baby?"

I've noticed a few words coming out of his mouth that Quinn never would have uttered at such a young age.

Here you go:
  • bad guy? (He says it in sort of a question - as in, "are you a bad guy")
  • good guy? (or "are you a good guy?")
  • shooter
  • pirate
  • ARGH!
  • pshh pshh pshh (swording noises)
  • recycle (Quinn learned all about recycling in preschool and now checks everything to see if it is, in fact, recyclable. Liam follows suit. This would be so adorable, if they didn't insist on checking everything, including cups, bowls, plates, and anything else filled with something that can, and usually does, spill.
  • Mine (sure, Quinn said this when he was younger, but really, Liam really enunciates each and every sound in this word, so as not to be mistaken that, that doorknob right there, that one, it is in fact his and nobody else better hold onto that doorknob.)
  • bubble bath? (Liam asks this every night. Quinn didn't have his first bubble bath 'til he was 3 - I had sensitive skin growing up and was worried about Quinn's skin.)
  • Incredibles? (Liam asks to watch this all the time. It used to be "Eva" for Wall-E, but now he loves the Incredibles. At 23 months Quinn only knew Elmo, Barney, and Thomas.
  • Time out. Wait. beep beep beep. All done. (Sure, Liam hasn't had an official time out yet, but Quinn has had plenty. And Liam hates when Quinn is in time out, so he recites the phrase, time out. Quinn. Wait. beep beep beep. All done. And Liam is so happy when the time out is over, even if Quinn earned his time out by pushing Liam or taking something away from him.)
And really, looking at this list isn't even close to as adorable as it is listening to Liam's voice. Bubble bath is my favorite - the inflection of his voice and the way he shakes his head yes. Oh, and Incredibles? so cute as he takes every single DVD out of the cabinet to find that movie before asking if we can watch it. How am I supposed to say no?

This is my baby. My baby who's going to be two.

so there are some benefits to having a late talker--or maybe an older sister. Joe says, or rather sings "High school musical" and He knows who Hannah Montana is.
:) But no superheros or swash buckling!
