Yeah, but Liam looks pissed to even be held my me in that shirt! (Notice I had to put him in his Sox gear to make up for it?)
So...we met up with mcmama and Jennifer and her husband Tate. (Just a side note - I forced Mike to go and get himself a t-shirt to wear to the game. "Nobody goes to a baseball game wearing a button up shirt (mike's usual attire). Nobody. Just get a t-shirt and try something different for once." So of course when I saw Tate for the first time, wearing a button up shirt, one I believe Mike actually owns, I thought, "well, maybe I'm wrong, but I've got a feeling these two will get along." (I wasn't wrong. I felt they got along pretty well.) ) So anyway...everyone met at my house, we walked to the train and waited for our adventure to begin.
Once in the city we had lunch on Michigan Ave., walked through Millenium Park for a bit, and then said goodbye to mcmama...

And made our way to the redline and off to Harry Carey's Bar! Where we somehow scored a table right away - some guys were about to leave and told us if Jennifer took her shirt off we could have their table. I'll let you guess whether or not she scored that table for us!

So, after a few beers at the bar, we headed to Wrigley Field...and got some shots of the sign. And then we headed in to get settled in our seats. oh! And while we were out there Tate had to buy a score card, and I was all, "You've got to be kidding me!"

But then while watching the game Jennifer and Tate showed me how exactly scoring works, and my god, I was hooked. So we all took turns (except Mike, he was too busy fetching me junk food!). I really liked keeping score, especially the inning where the Cubs took a huge lead over the Cards. That was fun - and I'm thinking both Jennifer and Tate didn't mind not having to keep score of that one. =)

And then there was the 7th inning stretch...

And then Jennifer and I had a really good conversation about blogging, pulling traffic, pros/cons, "secret blogs" that aren't really secret, privacy, pictures, flickr, and all of a sudden...it was the 9th inning and the last out - so we had to stand and cheer.

And guess what, Dad, see, Liam still loves me, even with that shirt on.

*Special note: I'm pretty sure my dad does not read this blog, I just think that if he did he would need to be reminded that Mike isn't a democrat, which in his book, I believe, is worse than being a Cub's fan.*
* Oh, and also, I don't talk politics on this blog.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm...beer, baseball, and junk food. One of the best parts of summer. Looks like so much fun.
Those are greats pics! You can see how happy he was to be there drinking beer and watching his team win!
I had to laugh about the Democrat part. My dad would feel the same way. Glad you had fun.
Wait, what?! Not democrats? What was I doing in your presence? Oh well, I guess they can't ALL be bad.:) Glad you guys had fun at the game!
How fun! Looks like heaven.
I have absolutely no doubt that Jennifer got y'all that table. I hear she's all about flashing on demand. ;-)
