So while I've been busy work with Napwarden, who, by the way, was great to work with. I told her my title, explained where it came from, and she thought of putting the tub on a pub sign. How fun is that? Anyway, while I've been busy with that, my friend, Amy, over at Mom, You're a Genius! has been working on a new look for herself. Go take a look - I'll wait here.
Cute itsn't, it? And guess what she used to make her header. Storybook! The program I've talked about here and here and here and here. And the program I've been meaning to talk about for all of you who have mentioned to me that you have No! Time! To! Scrapbook! And that's what I'm going to do now. AFTER the fact that I say, "Yes, Amy must really be a genius, because I had NO IDEA I could have used Storybook to create a header." All she did was change the page to custom page size, change the size, and voila - go look at her header. It's adorable!
And now, for all of you, who are clearly pretty well computer-savvy, and who complain that you don't have time to scrapbook. Here are a few reasons you should get Storybook!
1. You can put together an entire book.
2. You can use templates for the book and/or design your own pages. (You can also move templates around.)
3. Unlike designing a book via a photo-developing website - you don't have to be online to work on your book and you don't need to download for each book you want to make. Also - you cannot design your own pages with any of the photo-developing websites that I know about - they are all static templates.
4. The clean-up is a breeze - this is something I LOVE about using Storybook for projects. When the kids wake up, I just close the laptop and it's all cleaned up. Right now, I've got tons of scrapbooking stuff spread across the pool table in the basement - that I don't want to clean up because I'm not done yet.
5. You won't have so much stuff. This goes with the cleaning, but all you need is Storybook.
6. Creative Memories offers additional downloads with more paper, sticker, and embellishment designs for about $7. The nice thing is - once you download the pack - you can use the "stuff" over and over again because it's a file, not actual paper or stickers. You know? They just came out with a Disney Kit set and Babygirl and Babyboy stuff is coming in August. There's tons of other downloads you can use to give you whatever you need in your program.
7. You can print 12x12 or 8x8 sheets to add to an actual scrapbook. This is nice to do for the title page of a scrapbook - or some people do an entire scrapbook this way, but that, in my opinion is expensive.
8. You can make invites, gifts, announcements, etc. to send out to family and friends. I even made party favors for all the adults at Liam's birthday party!
9. You can design your own header for your blog.
10. When working in Storybook it's possible to do anything with your pictures to make them fit the page or look you want. Crop it, make it bigger, smaller, anything.
11. Although the books need to be printed via Creative Memories photo developing (very high quality books) the prints you design are saved as jpgs and can be printed pretty much anywhere.

Anyway, I promise I will not start doing a bunch of sales pitches. It's just that when a few of you mentioned how you'd like to get some memories into actual books for your kids and I know this product is totally for you guys - you get to work on the computer! And then, when Amy discovered she could use it for her header - my gosh, unless you already own Photoshop (is that the program I'm thinking of?) - this is perfect! If you want it - go ahead to my website and order one! It'll be shipped right to you - and who doesn't like to get a little something from the UPS man?
Any questions - go ahead and ask - I'll answer in the comments, but if you want an email from me make sure I can get your email address!

Wow - I did not know about Storybook, but you can bet I'll be trying it out.
I'm new to your site, but I like what I see!
Actually cathy, I HAVE photoshop, and I could not get it to work for a header--or a scrapbook page, invitations, etc. Actually it was very easy to do with story book....
Fantastic banner and fabulous new name! I've been meaning to comment and then I found myself clicking all of the links and reading all of these new blogs. Sigh. I have the attention span of a...Wait. What was I saying?
Oh, and we use Photoshop Elements for our banner creations. It isn't intuitive at all. Nine times out of ten I'm calling my husband over to "show me how" to do it AGAIN.
