Flashback - Dear Quinn,

As an avid scrapbooker I finished Quinn's First Year scrapbook a month after he turned One. Anyway...I thought I'd share a letter I wrote to Quinn on the very last page of his First Year scrapbook. What I love most about this letter is that it's written in my handwriting - and includes a picture of him as a baby and the picture above. And here's some more flashback photos for your enjoyment.

Dear Quinn, (Dec. 20, 2005)
I would never have believed how much one little person could change my life. It's been just over a year since you came screaming into my world - and your father and I have been blessed with many memories.
We were so anxious to bring you to our home. We worked so hard getting things ready for your big arrival, but it wasn't perfect until you came home! We had a real scare when you wouldn't nurse and slept too long; you were 7 days old. We called the doctor and she said, "Give him a bottle. Dont' worry, he'll nurse again, he's just too weak." Yikes - we were so scared, but you took that bottle, got some energy, and started nursing again. You were such a good eater - breast or bottle and when you started eating real food you really loved it! What were we worried about? Besides that one scare, your first year was pretty easy for us as parents! Well, except for when you were 4 months old and decided not to sleep anymore. We consulted your doctor, my doctor, and a few books and decided to use the "cry-it-out" method. It worked beautifully and took less than a week, but as your mom, it was the hardest thing I had to do. I now see that as one of the first things we taught you to do for yourself. And so now you're one - and you want to do everything for yourself - you'll even push my hand away if I try to help you. When you want me to help you, I will be there for you. I promise.
Love always,
Mom

Oh my goodness -- too cute! He's grown SOOO much!! WOW!

I'm so envious that you are able to put together baby books and memories -- I haven't even BOUGHT a book for LM yet!

I am also envious... could I send you pics and have you do it for me ;-) I know - kind of defeats the purpose. Love the pics... the second one I can see a stronger resemblance to Liam. Love the eyes in the last. Adorable.
