One of my good friends from high school was married this past Saturday. It was a beautiful ceremony in a small church. Her and her husband planned a small wedding with a small afternoon reception. There was no DJ, no photographer, no dance floor, no garter removal, no tossing of the bouquet, no first dance. But trust me when I say there was love.
My friend is quite possibly the biggest Beatles fan that exists. And yes, I know there are a ton of them out there, but she absolutely loves the Beatles. And when I found out there would not be a first dance I thought, "That's crazy. She has to dance to one of the Beatles songs. She has to." Well, the two love birds had a much better idea. The soloist sang, "I Will." Absolutely beautiful. And as she sang the two love birds just looked into each other eyes. It was possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. And I may have had tears running down my face, except I was a bit distracted by the 3 year old trying to lay on me while I had a 1 year old on my lap who was trying to grab all the song books and throw them on the floor.
Who knows how long I've loved you,
you know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely life time,
if you want me to I will
For if I ever saw you,
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered,
I will always feel the same
Love you forever and forever,
love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together,
love you when we're apart
And when at last I find you,
your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you,
make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me,
ah you know I will,
I will,
ooo, la

This wedding fit them perfectly. The last time I was at a wedding that I thought truly reflected the couple - it was their wedding. You should all go bug them to post about their big day - I think it was almost four years ago - but another beautiful wedding. And afterwards I figured that Leah was perfect for Dan, because the wedding they planned together seemed perfectly fit for Dan.
