Yesterday the sling book shelf I ordered was delivered at our front door. I dragged the box inside and started answering Quinn's questions of "what's in there?" "is it for me?" "Let's see it!" After a few answers he finally said, "Oh. We have to wait for Daddy to get home to build it." WHAT? Although that was my plan, once those words came out of his mouth I said, "oh, I think we can do this together. You and me. Liam's sleeping. Should we put the book shelf together?" To which I got a very enthusastic YES! And so we did it. It wasn't that hard, except the first time we screwed in the wooden rods with the cloth slings on them we did it wrong. I had a feeling it might be wrong when we started that process, but the directions were so confusing so I figured we could just try it and then fix it. So, we fixed it and voila! Quinn's new book shelf (used to hold those books with paper pages so Liam cannot destroy anymore). So far we love it and it fits nicely in Quinn's room.

I love that it comes with those two storage baskets. I asked Quinn if he wanted to put some toys in there. "YES!"
I asked him if he wanted to put more in. "Nope, that's it. That's good just like that." (That's a compass on the left and a hotwheel car on the right.)

Great job! I love that you made the decision to put it together after hearing that comment. The thoughts in my head while reading went something like "Oh, heck no, he didn't just say that," to "I hope she puts it together," to "Yea! She did!" :)
It's really nice! I wish I would have gotten that kind instead of a regular bookshelf.
That's great! Our lives continue to mirror...we have those sling shelves as well - but not so nifty as to have drawer storage too! That's cool (I esp love the items he put in)! Where did those come from?
Kudos for putting it together yourself! It's kewl.
That's a cool bookshelf! Good job putting it together, too.
WOOT for Mommy! Definitely wouldn't have waited for Daddy after hearing something like that either!! I love that shelf!!!
