Random Ramblings

Alright, so Liam's been sick since, oh I don't know, maybe Saturday? It seems like forever. Poor guy has an ear infection and is leaking out of his nose and eyes constantly. Quinn just got over the cold. And now I don't feel so good. I was so crabby this weekend. Poor Mike. He decided to walk Liam in his arms until he fell asleep. And I got mad, because I cannot walk that Baby around waiting for him to fall asleep. I can rock him, but I've just been way too sore lately to actually hold Liam and walk around the room. so I was mad, because I felt like Mike had undone all of our sleep training with the little guy, but to make matters worse I wouldn't be able to do the same. So guess what. Monday came and Mike was gone and Liam napped just fine. Today came and Liam did not want to nap for his afternoon nap. So guess what I did. I NURSED him to sleep. Yup. Take that, Daddy Who Walks, you've been replaced by Mommy Who Sits and Nurses. Liam and I both took a nice little nap until Quinn woke us both up.

The way I figure it I honestly don't know when all four of us in this house will be healthy again. Remember, Quinn got sick? And then we all had our turn with the flu? Well after that I think we had one week of nobody being sick. And now Quinn started the rotation again - this time with cold-like symptoms. Thanks Quinn. Or rather, Thanks Preschool Germs.

A few weeks ago a filled out an application for blogher ads. I'm not so sure I like the fact that I might have to move the picture of my boys down on the page so that the ad is up on top. I'm going to wait and see if they say anything about it. I like having Quinn and Liam greet my readers.

Quinn has been saying some of the most amazing things lately. My favorite phrase is, "Mommy, you're my best friend. And Liam is Daddy's best friend. And we're all really good friends." A few nights ago Quinn opened the shower curtain and accidently knocked a little dish I had sitting on the tub with soap on it and the dish broke. After his bath he came out and said, "I'm sorry mommy. I broke that thing." After figuring it out I told him it was okay and gave him a hug. He was truly sorry. So much so that a few nights later I walked into his room while Mike was getting his PJs on and put something in there. As I was leaving I heard Quinn say the following. "Mommy is nice. She's not mean. She didn't yell when that thing broke. I love her." My heart just melted. And I feel so guilty when I get a little short with him, which happened a few more times than it should have today. But I'm still his best friend. =)

I've been so tired lately. Going to bed early, but waking up early thanks to the boys. I've been avoiding naps so I can fall asleep at night - but just feel so worn down.

I'm really getting sick of this cold weather - I feel like this has been a really rough winter. I've been planning an escape for next winter around this time. Just trying to determine if it'll be a family getaway - maybe florida? Maybe Disney? Or if I'm just going to hop on a plane and visit my friend in CA? Planning for Feb. 09 makes me feel a little better about how cold it's been, how dry my skin is...

Speaking of. In May I finished my master's and gave myself a little party. My family pitched in and got me a gift card for Mario Tricoci - enough for a massage and then some. Since I was 8 months pregnant I didn't really feel like using it then. And then Liam was born and I sort of forgot about it. until now. I'm trying to decide between a massage (I did have one once, and loved it) or a body wrap to help with the dry skin. If you had the free money which would you choose:

Swedish Massage
Improves circulation, reduces tension and encourages relaxation, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized

Pumpkin Peel Wrap
A natural exfoliator. This wrap is rich in fruit enzymes and vitamins to leave your skin nourished and feeling like silk

Warm Shea Butter Wrap
Envelop your body with intensely hydrating and healing shea butter to leave your skin smooth and silky

I'm thinking of going with a wrap - since I've never done that before. Who knows? Maybe they give you a little massage while applying the stuff. Now the question is do I want pumpkin or butter?

Oh my, your boys are adorable! I can totally relate with all of the sickness. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. :)
