I took Quinn to school on V-Day to drop off flowers for the teachers and cards for the kids. He was too sick to stay for the morning, so we said hello and Happy Valentine's Day to his teachers. One of his teachers gave him a little treat bag which I made him wait until we were home to open it. Inside he found: a heart pencil, little pad of paper, eraser, and some chocolate crunchy cereal treat. After taking everything out he said, "Oh look! It's all of my favorite things!" Little does he know he'll be getting a whole big bag of treats and things next time he goes to school.

Every year I make cupcakes for my little cupcakes at work to frost, decorate, and eat on Valentine's Day. Since there was no class on V-Day I bought them the next day. Quinn helped me make the first batch. Here's some of my favorite quotes from the experience together.
- "These are going to be de-lic-ious!"
- "Ohhh....it's going around and around and mixing it alllll up."
- "It's going to be like magic. We put them in the oven and boom! they will turn into cupcakes."
- "Woot! There it is!" (when I asked him where the measuring cup was)
- "This is going to be so exciting when Daddy gets home."

Yesterday before lunch. After noticing just 3 cupcakes left.
Through tears: - "Oh no. We're almost out of cupcakes. I love them. I want to eat them all the time."

This morning as I was putting away the container that once held the beloved cupcakes:
- "We should probably make more cupcakes."

Make more cupcakes mom! Don't make the kid cry!
Sniff. Sob. Looking at a face like that, how can you not make more cupcakes? Oh, man, I'd spoil him. Good thing you're the mom.
