My Last Wednesday at Home

So today is my last Wednesday at home with the boys. Exactly a week from today I will be at work teaching preschoolers. Which has been compared to herding cats. I think that is an accurate description of what my days will soon involve. Trying to get 18 preschoolers to go in the same direction or sit at the same time is pretty much like herding cats. It shouldn't be too bad considering I did miss the beginning of the year. The time of the year when they don't know how to open their lockers, take off their backpacks, take out their folders, sit for a story, walk in a line (or at least all walk together in the same direction), etc. etc. etc. Hopefully all of these "school skills" have sunk into their little brains and we can focus on more important things - like playing!
Anyway, so on my last Wednesday home here is a brief description of my day thus far. (It is only 2pm)
After a night of little sleep (Thank you Liam) the day started at approximately 6am.
While getting my vitamins ready to take I accidently grabbed one of Mike's bottles, which does not contain pills, but a powder form of Vitamin C. Not waching what I was doing I opened the bottle, held my hand out, and went ahead and poured the stuff into my hands. Expecting a pill and not having the quickest reaction, I spilled that Vitamin C powder all over the floor. Opps.
While getting rice cakes out for Quinn and I, somehow the bag ripped open and out flew all the rice cakes and the rice cake crumbs - all over the floor. Opps.
While fixing lunch for Quinn I slammed his finger in the drawer. Not on purpose. He cried less than he cries when he isn't hurt. There's a big bruise and some blood, but it's not broken.
While fixing my lunch I somehow burned my hand on the bag of rice. Ouch.
And so - that is a summary of my day so far. Oh - and Quinn has been crying every time he goes to the bathroom because he wants to stand up and pee. So, stand up and pee, I tell him. And he says he can't. He wants help. I cannot help with this, I try to explain. And so he asks me to hold his butt. WHAT? Last week he pooped while standing up to pee. I guess he's afraid that's going to happen again. He's been crying and crabby all morning - maybe he's getting sick. Who knows. He's going on two hours for his nap - which is a long time for him.
