Everyone,
As you probably already know, there is a new state law requiring all public schools to hold a daily moment of silence. Dr. Superintendent has asked that we start this ASAP, which for us will be tomorrow (10-26). Here is how the moment of silence will be implemented here at our school. In the morning, Office lady will ask everyone to please stand for a moment of silence that will then be followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Everyone will stand quietly for 5-6 seconds. Office lady will then get back on the P.A. and announce the pledgers for that day and we will proceed with the pledge as usual.
If students ask you why we are standing quietly my recommendation would be to tell them that this is giving them a few moments to get ready to learn for the day.
