Hmmm...I'll have to think about this. I have experienced being in public places where I've felt really uncomfortable when a woman has whipped out her boob to breastfeed her child. Would I ever tell her not to breastfeed? Absolutely not.

There's a good article about it on The Huffington Post:

After speaking about it with my husband I've come to the conclusion that it is okay for me to be uncomfortable with a given situation, breastfeeding included.

In the past, I was uncomfortable when someone would nurse in front of me. One of my sister-in-laws would do it right in the middle of a party! But then I had Quinn. With Quinn I would excuse us to a bedroom or other room where there wasn't so much traffic (nice to get away and have some alone time as well). While out I'd use the nursing rooms provided by department stores - some are REALLY nice. I never ventured out to a restraunt or anything with him. Now with Liam, I'm not so uncomfortable - just practice in front of a mirror and you'll see that people barely see anything if you cover up. The hardest part is getting them latched discretely, I usually cover us with a blanket for that part, then he pulls onthe blanket so I just use my shirt.
And honestly, a little part of me is still uncomfortable, but we're learning. =)
