Conversations

A few nights ago while getting ready to go to bed and after discussing how sometimes Quinn's "sleep pants" (pull-ups) are dry in the morning and sometimes they're soaked.
Me: I just drank 3 full glasses of water.
Mike: Why'd you do that?
Me: I don't know, but I'm not going to sleep at all tonight.
Mike: Maybe we should get you some sleep pants.
Me: I wonder if I could do that. Pee in a diaper.
Mike: You probably could - but you'd still wake up to pee. I don't think you could pee in your sleep.
Me: Yeah, I'd wake up, but I wouldn't have to drag my huge belly out of bed just to pee.
Mike: Yeah, but you'd probably want to change the Depends after peeing. So you'd get up anyway.
Me: I don't know. It depends on how absorbant they are. If I don't feel wet I might be able to just fall back asleep.
Mike: Maybe, do you want to try?
Me: No thanks.


At my last ultrasound. Things an ultrasound technition should never say while looking at the screen:

• Are you on any medication?
• Did you eat breakfast?
• Roll over onto your left.
• Hmmm...now your right.
• What time did you eat breakfast?
• What did you eat for breakfast?

Okay, apparently she wasn't seeing what she wanted...so I finally asked. Turns out she wanted to watch the baby practice breathing (which he did at the last ultrasound), but Baby needs to be awake to practice. So, she ended up giving me some juice and trying again, at which point Baby did what she wanted.

Conversation with Quinn at breakfast Monday morning:

Me: Do you want Life cereal or Frosted Mini Wheats?

Quinn: Life cereal? Daddy get Life cereal at store?

Me: Yes, Daddy got you Life cereal at the store last night.

Quinn: Tell Daddy thank you?

Me: Yes, you can tell Daddy thank you when he gets home from work.

Quinn: No, call Daddy on phone and tell Daddy thank you.

And so we did.
