I went to a Montessori preschool today just to check things out. I've been thinking that Quinn will need to be in something a little more next year when he's close to three and I've been curious about what's out there and how much it costs. I was prepared for the worst, as far as cost goes, because from what I've heard it's very expensive. The prices weren't too bad, maybe about $80 more a week then what we currently pay, but then we'd be paying for days off also. I'm also just thinking of finding a 2 day a week preschool program just to get him started and then he'd still go to the babysitter.
Anyway, I think my decision was made when I looked in the classroom and saw a bulletin board that said, "OURS BIRTHDAY" and I'm assuming that should have read, "OUR BIRTHDAYS" or as I would write in my class, "Our Birthdays". But then my decision was finialized when I asked how many children were in the class. The response, "7, but we're hoping to fill up the class soon." Oh, I replied, "How many would fill up the class." The response, "We're able to have 35 kids with 3 teachers in this room." Yikes! That's a lot of kids - I don't care how many teachers you have in there.
That and the lady kind of smelled.
